HAMPTON, NH ⦁ May 16, 2017: Satellite Agency Network Group, Inc. (SAN) held its annual Business Meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Nearly 500 insurance industry professionals attended seminars and workshops, a luncheon with a keynote speech from a Mt. Everest adventurer, award ceremonies and tradeshow. Participants included SAN member agency owners and staff, insurance company partners, vendors, and industry subject matter experts. The event theme, “Passport to Excellence,” was prevalent throughout the exhibit hall, where attendees explored the world of opportunities available to them as SAN member agencies.
“We continue to see a heightened level of disruption to the independent agency distribution model,” said Matt Masiello, SAN President and CEO. “It was critical to have a conference full of constructive dialog and solutions-based discussions. We are pleased at the number of attendees who took this opportunity to help forge a future for their agency’s growth and success.”
SAN member agencies had the opportunity to participate in several workshops and seminars across a range of topics:
- Understanding behaviors and meeting expectations of Millennials and Generation Z
- Analyzing and managing agency books of business to increase revenue and gain efficiencies
- Effective management techniques to inspire agency staff to peak performance
- Managing rate increases in private passenger auto
The meeting’s keynote address, “The Adventure of Business,” was delivered by renowned Everest adventurer, successful entrepreneur and bestselling author, Jamie Clarke. Jamie’s high-energy and original presentation successfully drew parallels between the dynamic environments found in the office and in nature to provide business leaders with the framework to achieve success in any competitive setting. Jamie’s trademark spirit engaged the audience as he spoke on adapting to forces outside of one’s control and uphold one’s mission, despite distractions and dangers, all while encouraging a healthy dose of risk.
SAN’s trade show presented over 50 booths and featured sponsors of the event, including Platinum Sponsors: The Hartford, Travelers, Liberty Mutual, Safeco Insurance, Nationwide, Metlife, Berkshire Hathaway GUARD, Arbella, Quincy Mutual Group, Concord Group Insurance, CRC Group, and EZLynx.
