 Karen is charged with servicing and growing the SAN Group network in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth and Suffolk counties. Karen is SAN’s liaison between its Member Agencies and Strategic Partner Companies and will play a key role in Agency relations by providing assistance and monitoring growth and profit opportunities for SAN Member Agencies. Karen has 30 years of solid experience working with independent agents as an Underwriter and Marketing Manager, most recently at Hanover Insurance. Karen has completed Dynamics of Selling and the Dynamics of Agency relationships, has been an instructor for PRISMS training, is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and is a licensed Broker holding the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).

Tom F. DiGirolamo

 Tom has been with the SAN Group since 1998, and is responsible for developing, servicing and training SAN Group Agencies throughout Connecticut. Tom has more than 20 years major insurance industry experience. He was previously a director of new business development and a marketing representative for personal and commercial lines. Tom also held senior management positions in administration, customer service, and sales and marketing. A graduate of Springfield College, Tom received the PIA Company Professional of the Year Award in 1995.

Larry Rose, CIC
Regional Vice President of Eastern New York
 Larry Rose’s insurance career began in 1986 in eastern New York and he has held positions with Travelers, OneBeacon, Selective, and CNA. With a background in marketing claims services and serving as a liaison to strengthen agency-carrier relationships, Larry Rose most recently served as a consultant and direct-handled the highest exposure litigated cases over a territory of 11 eastern states.
Larry’s role at SAN Group, Inc. will include recruiting prospective member agents as well as servicing existing members in eastern New York. As RVP for the territory, Mr. Rose will have overall strategic responsibility for SAN Group’s results and services including: growth and profitability, managing insurance company and member relationships, access to top insurance companies, increasing member revenue, agency consulting, automation/vendor discounts, and sales/marketing assistance. In addition to the “standard” SAN Group, Inc. services, a large scale television advertising campaign, SIAA Insurance Choices, was launched for participating SAN Members. Larry Rose will be working to build this branding program in eastern New York.

Ellen Uhl, CPCU, AU

Western New York & Pennsylvania
 Ellen joined SAN Group in 2005, and is responsible for membership service, development, and insurance company relations for SAN Group Agencies in Western New York. Her territory encompasses Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Allegany, Erie & Niagara counties in New York and Erie, Crawford, Mercer, Lawrence, Beaver, Butler, Venango, Warren, Forest, Clarion, Armstrong, Indiana, Jefferson, Elk, McKean, Clearfield, Cameron, Potter, Clinton, Tioga, Bradford, Susquehana, Wayne, Pike counties in PA.
Prior to joining SAN Group, she held the position of Vice President for WINSAN which covered the same territory. Ellen has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience which encompasses both the company and agency aspects. Her previous positions include commercial lines underwriter and manager for a western New York company and agency producer and commercial lines manager at various agencies.
She is licensed in New York for the Agents license, Property/Casualty Brokers license and the Life, Accident & Health license. She is currently a New York Notary. In 1996, she earned the designation of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and in 2003 she earned the designation of Associate in Commercial Underwriting.
Ellen was recently named as a Director of the Insurance Club of Buffalo, NY.

Frank J. Waters, LUTCF
Vice President - Maine, New Hampshire, & Vermont
 Frank joined SAN Group in 2007 and is responsible for membership service, development, and insurance company relations for SAN Group Agencies in northern New England. He is a native New Englander, originally from southern Maine, and was in law enforcement for 15 years prior to entering the insurance industry in 1990 and joining Liberty Mutual.
At Liberty Mutual, Frank started in production selling personal lines in Kennebunk, Maine. From there, he was promoted to a sales management position and relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah where he took over an existing team. He had responsibilities in recruiting additional producers, as well as monitoring production, quality, and profitability. Then Frank was moved to the position of Director of Hiring and Training in Boston, Massachusetts where he held responsibilities for maintaining the recruiting and hiring practices. In addition, he conducted the personal sales manager training and portions of the home office sales representative training. Then Frank moved back to a Sales Manager position based out of Nashua, New Hampshire and was responsible for 14 sales representatives, 14 service representatives, and a $64 million book of business.
Prior to joining SAN Group, Frank formed Acu-Rate Insurance Agency in Nashua, New Hampshire. In taking the position with SAN Group, Frank has sold his agency to Michael Settanny, also of Nashua. Frank's management experience including staffing, profitability, and production makes him a great addition to our team.

Michele’s emphasis is on the development of carrier relationships, including strategic planning, across the entire Northeast region in addition to overseeing the entire network in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Ms. DeForest will continue to call on existing and prospective agents in the counties of Bristol, Worcester, Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden and Berkshire. With SAN Group since 1994, Michele has developed the largest network in SAN Group (Northeast) and SIAA (National). Michele has more than 30 years of industry experience, is a graduate of Anna Maria College and holds the professional designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Licensed Insurance Advisor (LIA).
